As a practice we undertake various precautions to ensure that your data is protected and confidentiality maintained.
However, there are instances were your data may be shared and you need to be aware of this. The aim of data sharing is to improve patient care but you do have the option to opt-out of any data sharing that you do not want.
Automatic Extractions – these happen occasionally and are instigated by the Health and Social Care Information Centre. The purpose of these extractions is to look at health trends in general practice.
The data that is extracted is postcode and NHS number. There are leaflets available in reception if you want further information about this. There is also an OPT out form in reception for patients who do not want their data extracted.
